  • BYD Officially Introduces Atto 2 in Europe with Two Trim Levels and 312 km Range

BYD has officially launched the Atto 2 electric vehicle (EV) in Europe, offering two trim levels as it prepares for sales in the region. The model, known as the Yuan Up in China and other markets, features a 7.9-second acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h and supports 65 kW DC fast charging.

The Atto 2 is positioned between BYD’s Dolphin hatchback and Atto 3 crossover. Built on the e-Platform 3.0 modular architecture, the small SUV features a high bonnet, plastic body cladding, and blacked-out pillars that create a floating roof effect. The model is available in four exterior colors: green, gray, white, and black.

The Atto 2’s front adopts BYD’s Dragon Face design, while its taillights incorporate a pattern described by BYD Europe officials as “the recognizable symbol of a Möbius ring, bringing endless luck for the driver and all passengers.” The vehicle measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,620 mm.

Inside, the Atto 2 features a 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. The seats, upholstered in eco-friendly vegan leather, come with heating and electronic adjustment in the front. A panoramic sunroof is also included, while the cargo space ranges from 400 liters to a maximum of 1,340 liters with rear seats folded.

The Atto 2 is powered by a 45.12 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, offering a WLTP range of 312 km. It supports AC charging at up to 11 kW and DC fast charging from 30% to 80% in 28 minutes. The electric motor delivers 130 kW (174 hp) and 290 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 160 km/h.

In Europe, the Atto 2 will be available in two trims: Active and Boost. The entry-level Active version includes 17-inch wheels, leather seats, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a rear-view camera, rear parking sensors, six speakers, and six airbags. The Boost variant adds features such as a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, a 12.8-inch touchscreen, front parking sensors, and a surround-view camera system.
