BYD is preparing to launch its new PHEV, plug-in hybrid MPV model Xia, in China. Some technical features of the model, which is planned to be on sale in China this year with prices starting at $42,300, have also been revealed.
According to data shared by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the BYD Xia will be able to offer a pure electric driving range of up to 145 kilometers according to CLTC with its 36.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. BYD's estimates from previous tests were around 200 km. The weight of the battery was announced as 331 kg. In addition, the total weight of the vehicle is 2650 kg.
A 1.5-liter gasoline engine is used in the BYD Xia, but power and torque data have not yet been announced. The fuel consumption of the MPV with the PHEV system is recorded as 6.5 lt/100 km. The internal combustion engine in question is thought to be the 154 horsepower BYD472ZQB, which is usually combined with a 200 kW electric motor.
The Xia continues the brand's Dynasty design philosophy. The thin LED headlights on the upper section are combined with a large grille and vertical air intakes that extend to the lower bumper. On the side, the sharp lines used in the shoulder line and fender arches, the shiny chrome details surrounding the windows and the multi-spoke rims draw attention. At the rear, the large trunk lid that reveals the practical use of MPVs and the LED stop lights extending from end to end welcome us.
BYD Xia; It has a length of 5145 mm, a width of 1970 mm, a height of 1805 mm and a wheelbase of 3045 mm. This means that it is 10 cm shorter than one of its biggest competitors in the market, the Denza D9. There is no official visual of the interior yet, but according to spy photos, it will have a 2+2+3 seating arrangement and a digital instrument panel embedded in the console and a large multimedia screen. DiPilot advanced driving assistance systems and DiLink 150 cockpit system will also be among the features.
